Red Pill Blues is the sixth studio album by Maroon 5. It was released on November 3, 2017, by 222 and Interscope Records. The title of the album refers to the science fiction term of taking the red pill or the blue pill, which originated from the 1999 sci-fi film The Matrix. The album is the follow-up to their fifth studio album V (2014) and features guest appearances from ASAP Rocky, SZA, LunchMoney Lewis and Julia Michaels.

October 31: The Howard Stern Show

     News&Rumors

Before his Stern Show visit on Tuesday morning, Adam sent an email to Howard asking if he could perform a special tribute to Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell who passed away in May. Of course, Howard gave him the green light.

“This is probably my favorite Chris Cornell song,” Adam said of “Seasons” before he and his Maroon 5 bandmates (James Valentine, Sam Farrar, and Jesse Carmichael) performed their in-studio cover. “Seasons” was originally featured on the soundtrack for the movie “Singles” which Adam said he considers to be one of the best soundtracks of all time.

“I deeply regret not getting to meet him, but his music was so unbelievably influential on all of us,” Adam said of Cornell.

Check out audio of Adam Levine and Maroon 5 performing “Seasons” (below).

James Valentine explained why “Seasons” is such a unique song. “It’s only two notes,” he told Howard while strumming out a C note followed by an F note. “For a guitar player, that’s a pretty weird tuning.”

And while the guys are confident their fans would enjoy it if they sang “Seasons” in concert, Adam told Howard there was no better place to perform the song than on the Stern Show.

“Going on your show and doing this song for [Cornell] is something that makes sense,” Adam said.

Adam Named YSL Beauty’s First-Ever Digital Ambassador

     News&Rumors

Adam has been named YSL Beauty’s first-ever digital-only fragrance ambassador.

The Maroon 5 singer has been tapped to promote the brand’s latest men’s scent, Y, which launched in August (17), and he will soon be a part of YSL Beauty’s efforts to reach customers via digital and social media platforms.

Adam’s campaign and content will only appear on the company’s and his own social channels.

“It’s different than the competition where you generally pick your face and put it in an ad and that’s it,” Alexandre Choueiri, president of international collections at L’Oreal USA told WWD, describing YSL Beauty’s new venture as a “big deal” for the company. “Adam Levine will not appear in print ads. We’re doing something completely new and different with him in the digital space only.”

With over eight million followers on Twitter and over ten million on Instagram, The Voice coach Adam is definitely a strong choice to endorse Y and it’s hoped this collaboration will appeal to both existing and new customers.

There may be room for further opportunities away from the Internet further down the line, but for now, Alexandre is excited about the 38-year-old star’s debut project.

“We thought it was relevant for YSL Beauty, and especially this fragrance. He celebrates the young man who is creative… who explores new frontiers and trusts themselves,” the businessman added. “We think he’s a perfect fit for the brand. He’s extremely creative and embodies what we love doing in YSL Beauty – telling our consumers to trust themselves and go above and beyond. We see his creative personality. He’s always exploring a new area.”

Adam’s involvement comes after YSL Beauty executives chose actress Zoe Kravitz as a face of the brand earlier this year, following her stint as a muse.
